  • Who is eligible to serve?

Any adult member of the CGSA in good standing shall be eligible to hold office on the Board of Directors.

Candidates in their first year can run for any position on the Board of Directors, except for the President and Vice President roles which require at least one year on the CGSA board and to

    be in good standing.

  • What is the time commitment?

Generally speaking Board Members are required to:

    • Attend a monthly board meeting usually on a weekday evening
    • Perform Board Member on Duty (BMOD) duties 4-5x per season
    • Attend all-hands-on-deck league events a few times per year
    • Perform their position duties between 3-5 hours per week (more depending on role and season)
  • When does the term start and stop?

The term for all positions is one calendar year.  Terms begin September 1 and run through August 31.

New-to-the-role members will shadow the outgoing Board Member or train during the month of August prior to their term beginning to ensure a smooth transition.

  • When are elections held?

Annual elections are held at the end of the Spring Rec season.  Typically they are a part of the family "taco" day, and meal tickets are handed out in exchange for a completed ballot.

The Board is elected by a majority vote on a predetermined date.  Every member (registered family) gets one vote.

In case no candidate gets a majority of the votes cast, a runoff shall be held between the two candidates receiving the highest number of votes.
